When we decided to develop a new website for our business, Southern Towbars / Fast Fit Exhaust, we had three main objectives.

1. Develop a website using Search Engine Optimisation techniques to improve our chances of ranking well in Google and other search engines;
2. Develop a website that would allow us to make changes to the content of the site if required (as our old website was developed, hosted and maintained by a large corporation who made making the simplest of changes an arduous task);

Search Engine Optimisation Effectiveness

Since launching our new website in May 2008, we have seen a steady increase in unique visitors to southerntowbars.com.au, and as a result, a marked increase in customer enquiries.

This is due to the fact that our website is ranking highly (generally on the first page) for relevant Google (and other search engine) searches. This means that people who are looking on the Internet for the products and services we provide, eg ‘towbars Adelaide’ will be able to easily locate our website.

As SouthernXposure also hosts our website, we have access to useful statistics including:

1. the number of unique visitors to our site per month/day;
2. the means by which visitors have found our site (ie through Google, Yahoo, MSN or other engines, through entering our website address directly into their browser, or through links on other websites), and percentages thereof;
3. the keywords and phrases that people searched for that resulted in them visiting our website.

Information such as this is very useful for planning modifications to the website to further enhance its effectiveness.

All in all, choosing SouthernXposure to develop our website has resulted in the achievement of all our project objectives, with results that have been beyond our initial expectations. We are now working with SouthernXposure to further develop the content and functionality of southerntowbars.com.au.
